About Us

My name is Kristina Centers and I have been married to my husband John, who is Assistant Fire Chief for our local city, for over 20 years. We have two teenage boys named Cody and Cameron. The inspiration behind “Fight Her” came after John suffered a heart attack while at the scene of a car accident and had to be flown by helicopter for emergency surgery. There was a moment when we thought we may lose him, but as a wife and a mother, you find the strength to stay strong under the most stressful of circumstances.
I’m a former MMA fighter and John became my corner coach for State and National Competitions. He used to motivate me before, during and after all of my competitions or fights. He used to give pep talks and constantly used to tell me “You’re a fighter…”

John ended up back in the hospital not too long after his release from the heart attack, and it was months of doctor visits, tests, medication changes and stress to the highest level because we didn’t know what was wrong with John. All the while, I was trying to keep a normal routine for the boys, working full time, and trying to stay strong for my family and friends.
But it finally came to a head, and I couldn’t hold it together anymore. I left work early, went home and SOBBED. I was scared about losing John and I knew this was something I couldn’t fix. John & I had a long talk and I told him how scared I was about losing him & I didn’t know what I’d do because he & the boys are my world. John said “No matter what, you’ll be okay…You’re a fighter, remember.”

A couple nights later while trying to fall asleep, I was thinking about what he said to me and realized that other women in my life such as my mother-in-law, who is a cancer survivor of over 10 years, somehow finds the means to keep going no matter what curve balls life seems to throw at them.
I kept repeating his words, “You’re a fighter,” and saw the words “Fight Her.” I decided to share my idea by designing t-shirts for other women who have overcome their own personal struggles.
Every woman I know has had to deal with some type of battle. It could be divorce, single motherhood, bad relationships, money problems, alcohol or drug problems, health problems, insecurity issues, etc. but inside of every one of those women is a true fighter. Women have this amazing ability to dig deep when they are at their lowest and I wanted to try to capture the celebration of this beautiful quality that we all possess.
